These terms cover the AuditLint browser extensions and this website. Installing or using an extension means you accept them.

What automated testing can and cannot tell you

These tools are an automated aid. They are not a certification of compliance, and no result they produce establishes conformance with any standard or law.

Automated testing cannot detect every accessibility failure. A clean result means the checks the tool performs found nothing on the page in the state it was scanned — not that the page is accessible, and not that it conforms to WCAG 2.2, EN 301 549, the European Accessibility Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, or any other requirement.

In particular:

• Colour contrast is one success criterion among many. Passing it says nothing about the rest.
• Content behind interaction — menus, modals, hover and focus states, and anything loaded later — is not exercised unless it is on screen when you scan.
• Text over images or gradients, and content affected by CSS filters or blend modes, is reported as needing manual review because it cannot be measured reliably. Those items are not failures and are not counted as passes either.
• Cross-origin frames cannot be read by any browser extension, and their contents are outside the scan.

A complete accessibility audit requires review by a person. Use these tools as one input to that work, not as a substitute for it.

Your licence

Buying a licence gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use that extension. The licence is yours; please do not share or resell the key. It has no expiry and requires no subscription.

You may not decompile, redistribute, or create derivative works from the extensions.

Refunds

If a tool does not do what this site says it does, email hello@auditlint.com within 30 days and you will get a full refund. No form to fill in. If you are in the EU or UK you also have your statutory withdrawal rights, which these terms do not limit.

Liability

The extensions are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent the law allows, AuditLint is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from use of the extensions — including any claim, penalty or proceeding relating to the accessibility of a website you tested with them. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Availability and changes

The extensions are distributed through the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and their availability depends on those stores. Features may change; a change that removed something you paid for would entitle you to a refund under the section above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you agree to that venue.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
